6th grade:  

Currently working on Geometry.  We will be taking our unit test tomorrow 1-22-16.  Next week we will begin working with the Coordinate Plane.  That test will be Friday February 5, 2016.  

5th Grade:

We are working on presentations.  Our topic this week is African American Athletes.  The student will find the following information:

• Name
• Lifespan
• Birthplace
• Age at Death
• Three historical events that occurred during their lifespan
• Education
• Marital and Family Status
• Occupation
• Two contributions to sports
• Two interesting facts about his/her life. 

Our presentations on this will be January 29, 2016.  We will then move on to Civil Rights leaders.

We began our unit on Geometry this week.  We will be working on area the first week of January.  The second week we will work on Volume and Surface Area and our assessment will be January 22.  
We also sent home report cards this week.  Please let me know if you need to schedule a conference.
